Last weekend the beach was so crowded with Spring Breakers! It was cool to see so many people having such a good time out there, even if the shoreline did get really full. We had to drive foreeeeever to find a space we fit in, but luckily Chris has his cute little white-top FJ to 4×4 us wherever we need to go to find the right waves. Surfing Around Matagorda Beach
For anyone else who tires of being a spectator, here’s something surfy from Chris’s point of view surfing around Matagorda Beach. These were all taken using Chris’s GoPro on a beautiful, clean fall day on the beach with some beautiful waves. Standing on the beach taking pictures is fun for a while, but soon enough you have to test the waters. Matagorda Surfing Day Trip
Last weekend we drove down to Matagorda surfing for the day. It was beautiful, as usual. In the morning an ominous fog blankets everything lately, but by the time the sun’s up there isn’t a cloud in sight. If it took me a little longer to edit these photos than usual, last week was just overwhelming with life happenings. I’ll spare the details, but I’m so glad it’s over. Matagorda Surfing + Nothing But Blue Skies
These are a few more waves from Matagorda surfing in July. We were able to go out on the jetties and the beach! I caught a few really long waves, and of course Chris caught every one that came along. The waves were long and powerful, if choppy from an offshore wind. When I first went out, it was hard to keep the board straight. The current was coming from so many different directions. Matagorda Surf + Sun
We found some Matagorda surf, and sun, on Sunday and Monday. What better way is there to spend a long weekend? We met up with friends, too, so it was in good company. With fireworks. There were waves, sure, but too much wind! When it’s too windy, the waves are choppy like a dishwashing machine. How to begin at the end? This weekend’s photos are in reverse, with the middle of the plot in the beginning, the beginning AND the end at the end.
