    Cloud Surfing in Galveston

    Last Wednesday we took the day off and went down to Galveston for some long glassy longboard waves. A thick fog had rolled in overnight, so in the early morning you couldn’t see farther than a few feet in front of you. It was almost more like cloud surfing in Galveston. Slide. The beach is rarely so crowded this early, but the fog made everything seem even more quiet since you couldn’t see the other people on the beach. Especially out on the water.     Surfing Galveston’s New Beach?

    So… who knew surfing Galveston is looking up? I had no idea that they rebuilt the beach out south of 61st street. Along with the new shoreline comes a fun set of sandbars to learn. Last weekend there was a hurricane in Mexico, so we headed out for some beach time on Sunday. With the hurricane so far away, the waves were only about 2-3 feet, but they were 10-14 seconds long!
