    Stand Up and Paddleboard

    /

Chris and I finally broke away from work life to go down to Matagorda together with the new stand up paddleboard. The water is almost warm enough to go in without a wetsuit. We…

    Where Are Texas Waves?

    /

Do people even surf in Texas? Where are Texas Waves? I hear this all the time. Or jokes about how there are no waves or surf in the Gulf. Chris says it has more days with surfable waves than many of the popular surf spots on the East coast because of the Gulf current patterns. Texas surf is burly, with short powerful waves that can be difficult to paddle out through. But they are waves!…

As the days get shorter, the waves get longer. This was one of the best days in a long while. When we first arrived at the beach, the waves were too big and fast to ride, but then they died down and cleaned up a little bit.

Hello!

Artist and writer in Houston, painting my way through a slower kind of life. Likely By Sea is where the studio spills into everything else — watercolor and process, slow craft, whole-food cooking, coastal days, and the small style-and-living notes in between. Trained as a fine artist; the rest just follows the same eye.
