    Dairy-Free Cream Cheese Recipe

    /

A nice schmear of rich cream cheese perfectly takes the edge off the dryness of a breaded breakfast pastry like a bagel. Does dairy give anyone else a little bit of an upset stomach? This dairy-free cream cheese recipe solves all of your worries. It’s made from full-fat coconut cream, so it does have a lot of fat in it (duh) and a naturally sweet taste. Lightly sweeten it with maple syrup, or if you are sensitive to sugars skip the syrup. I prefer the maple-flavored cream cheese for a fun garnish on these grain-free rainbow bagels, but a more savory dish with salty salmon may be better off without it.…

    Paleo Rainbow Sprinkles Recipe

    /

Rainbow sprinkles bring so much fun to any dish. But you don’t have to literally eat colored sugar to bring a dash of colorful fun to a dish. This Paleo Rainbow Sprinkles recipe made from coconut flakes is a healthier choice, super cute, and turned out surprisingly well! To make them, just mix up the 6 colors of the rainbow in dehydrated coconut with all natural food dye. That’s right, dehydrated coconut flakes. I was so looking forward to another reason to break out my food dehydrator, which I finally invested in last fall after months of dreaming. So break open a rainbow bagel, layer on a generous serving of…

    Paleo Rainbow Bagel Recipe

    /

Stir up your morning with a little psychedelic fun from this paleo rainbow bagel recipe. You may have heard of the fun and festive rainbow bagels people have to travel to Brooklyn for. A few rainbow bagel recipes popped up on the internet, but none that met my health requirements. So, I came up with one myself. It was just as fun to make as I thought! The foundation for this recipe was the most authentic bagel recipe I could find (linked below). It is so delicious! I mean, this smells amazing coming out of the oven. Most of the other bagel recipes were basically muffins poured in doughnut pans.…

How to Grow Mint from Cuttings

    /

Have you ever wondered how to grow mint from cuttings? It’s pretty easy, and so rewarding. Fresh herbs growing in the kitchen windowsill bring such a warm, airy feeling to the room. Not to mention, it’s so fun to pick a fresh herb when you’re cooking. Every spring I like to spruce up my herb garden with the season, and this year I decided to take a few things inside. When the weather really heats up midsummer, the delicate herb plants outside completely fry – even in the shade. Many herbs like basil are annuals, so it’s inevitable that they will flower and go to seed. But some herbs like…

How to Make a Woven Photo Collage in PhotoShop

    /

Lately I’ve been feeling so inspired by woven photo collages and thought I’d put together a few quick ones in PhotoShop. Digital collages may not look as tactile and impressive as printed ones, but it’s much faster, less expensive since you don’t have to shoulder printing costs, and also cleaner. No mess. The other advantage of collaging with PhotoShop is you can easily move your photo around behind the mask to find juuuuust the right position for it. Cut and woven printed photos take some time and are so final. When I was younger, I used to loooooove cutting up photographs and collaging them together. A budding photographer and soon-to-be…
