What kind of earrings do you wear most often? More likely than not, they’re simple stud earrings. Delicate or elaborate earrings are great for making a statement, but when you’re on the go it’s much easier to pop in a set of studs. Here are super simple diy pearl stud earrings, which you can wear anywhere and any time. Pearls go with everything and you can never have enough of them.
DIY Pearl Stud Earring Materials
2 7-8mm Pearls (Half-Drilled or not)
2 Stud Earring Posts (Sterling or Surgical Steel)
2 Earring Backings
You may or may not want to select a half-drilled pearl. If you do, you don’t need a flat back to the earring post. You can get a straight pin post that fits in the half-drill. When selecting metal for earrings, many people like to go for fine and semi-precious metals like 24k gold or sterling silver. Although surgical steel isn’t as glamorous as gold, it’s really much better for your skin.
DIY Pearl Stud Earring Instructions
First, take the pearl and stud earring backing between your left forefinger and thumb. Dab just a bit of jeweler’s glue on both the earring backing and the pearl.
Next, carefully place the two together. Repeat on the other side.
See? This is basically foolproof. Two steps and you’re done.
I like to stick these in a pincushion or piece of styrofoam while they dry, to make sure they stand up straight. Wear them everywhere. Pearls go with everything. These simple steps can really make any kind of stud earrings and are excellent gifts. Maybe you diy some Valentine heart earrings or flower studs. You could even make some cute St. Patrick’s Day posts with clovers on them, or origami studs for spring.
