Ride the Wave + Restorative Yoga

If you get the inside right, the outside will fall into place.” – Eckhart Tolle This weekend I completed Restorative Yoga Training at Joy. The teacher leading the training, Brittany Kraft, talked about how the body has waves that you move with. For example, there’s a healthy wave at the cervical spine, the thoracic spine, the lumbar spine, and the sacrum. You don’t want to develop totally straight spine, especially not at the cervical space by your neck. November Surf
As the days get shorter, the waves get longer. This was one of the best days in a long while. When we first arrived at the beach, the waves were too big and fast to ride, but then they died down and cleaned up a little bit.

Lingering Summer Surf
Never change, stay the same. Lately we’ve been wistful to leave the beach at dusk. Chris is always the last one out of the water. It’s never really a good idea to stay in the water after dark. The water cools down and this is feeding time for sharks. Even though sharks aren’t likely to bite – they don’t like the taste of humans – it’s better not to risk it. Sharks have poor eyesight. Add the low visibility of the murky Gulf and you can’t really be surprised if a shark accidentally chomps you. But the golden hour is the best time for photographs. We don’t have anything else…
