Spring Gardening
One of my favorite things about Spring is planting season. Chris and I just moved into a house, and I’ve been eagerly waiting for the time when we could start our spring gardening. Since I’ve always lived in an apartment, I’ve been a devoted container gardener and this is my first time planting in the ground. Also, my last apartment didn’t get enough light to grow vegetables, so I’m so excited to be able to start growing tomatoes again! It turns out that Chris used to work on an organic farm. Not only does he know all about gardening in the ground, he also really likes to till the earth.…

On the First Day of Spring
‘As the saying goes: “Argue for your limitations and you get to keep them.”’ – Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear I’ve been thinking about this quote a lot lately – I’m actually loving this entire book. It is so inspirational for me! I’ve been acquiring many books lately through yoga teacher training recommendations. Joshua Tree National Park
During a little bit of morning down time at the Palm Springs conference, I went to Joshua Tree National Park for a hike. I wish I had been able to stay longer! The joshua trees were beautiful. Whatever family they belong to, they are really cool looking! Two different desert ecosystems come together at the park – the Mojave and the Colorado – so there is such a variety of plants and wildlife here. Most of the photos that I took…

West Coast In Flight
I recently flew to Palm Springs for a work conference, eTail West. An early morning plane flight gets me every time. I love feeling the earth drop away behind me as the plane lifts into the air, and the peacefulness of rolling clouds below. I was on the red eye, so I kept drifting in and out of sleep. But when we were close to landing, there was fog all around. I couldn’t see any landmarks other than mountain peaks jutting up from the fog like mounds of drowning ice cream. Then the airplane turned, the fog parted under its wings, and all of a sudden there was the Pacific…

November Surf
As the days get shorter, the waves get longer. This was one of the best days in a long while. When we first arrived at the beach, the waves were too big and fast to ride, but then they died down and cleaned up a little bit.
