Ever wonder what the yoga teacher means when she starts talking about “dharma” in the middle of practice? For one thing, she’s helping to keep your mind off a physically challenging practice. But there’s also this whole other world to yoga outside of the asana practice. Yoga isn’t specifically religious, but it has developed alongside some pretty interesting spiritual practices from the East. Since finishing yoga teacher training at Joy Yoga a few months ago, I’ve been soaking in all of the information we learned and letting it settle. We read so many good yoga books leading up to and going through training. Here are a few yoga book reviews from my yoga journey. The theme of these books is different types of yoga practices that are popular in the West, but they’re by no means comprehensive! Light on Yoga by B.K.S. Eight Angle Pose + Fabletics Review
Happy International Yoga Day! Let’s celebrate with one of my favorite yoga poses, Eight Angle Pose, and a Fabletics review. Love and all is coming Eight Angle Pose Sequence To move into eight angle pose, begin to warm up with a few cat/cows, flipping your wrists to warm them up too. Warm up your hips with forward folds, chair, and twisted chair. I’d also add in a side crow from that twisted chair. Then runners lunge and twisted lunge on each side, followed by figure four.
