March Mood Board: Live a Little
Is it Spring yet? I’m so ready for the second half of March. The winter space between December and early spring is so full of waiting. For longer days, warmer air, less… sticks everywhere. We don’t get winter in Houston so much as everything turns to sticks. But that’s changing. It’s not dark when I leave the office anymore, which is so energizing. DIY Flower Lace Choker
This simple DIY flower lace choker combines two of my favorite things from the nineties: daisies and chokers. I made my flower lace choker from a crochet daisy lace I found at Joann’s Fabrics, but any kind of lace will work for this project. Shop around for the different kinds of lace at the fabric store near you. This daisy chain was my favorite lace, but there were so many options. This flower crown took about 20 minutes to make once I gathered all of the materials together. Matagorda Surfing + Nothing But Blue Skies
These are a few more waves from Matagorda surfing in July. We were able to go out on the jetties and the beach! I caught a few really long waves, and of course Chris caught every one that came along. The waves were long and powerful, if choppy from an offshore wind. When I first went out, it was hard to keep the board straight. The current was coming from so many different directions. You can kind of see it in all of that white water. But once I caught a wave, it was powerful enough that I didn’t have to worry about that anymore. The water is shallow near…
