Holiday Gift Wrap Ideas
Memories of Christmas always include tunes from the Sound of Music. When my sister and I were little girls, my mother had a record player with only a few albums we could listen to. One of them was the Sound of Music, and the others were all Christmas albums. My mother, sister and I would all sing along while we danced around the living room of our house, which proudly wore the seafoam green of Miami-Vice themed walls. Brown paper packages tied up with string. This year I’m wrapping everyone’s presents with brown paper packaging, and embellishing them with different strings and bows. Read on for a few more of my…

DIY Beaded Ball Earrings
One of my favorite diy projects to date, these diy beaded ball earrings are inspired by Rebecca De Ravenel’s Bon Bon Earrings. With an extra beaded twist, my ombre version brings a little more sparkle and festive holiday spirit. The base of these earrings are glitter mini Christmas ornaments! They make for a really fun holiday craft, not to mention the perfect accessory for any holiday outfit or to jazz up an everyday look. Maker be wary: these earrings are a little heavier than the Bon Bon ones, because they are embellished with so many beads. You can always substitute sparkle embroidery thread or plastic seed beads to make more…

DIY Pumpkin Centerpiece for Thanksgiving
A unique centerpiece vase is easier to make than you may think and this one looks so great for Thanksgiving. The fall wildflowers in season right now have so many lovely autumn colors that really stand out when highlighted in a fall pumpkin shape. I just love how this diy pumpkin centerpiece turned out! DIY Pumpkin Centerpiece Materials 1 Pumpkin (duh) 1 Cylindrical Vase 1 Fall Wildflower Bouquet 1 Xacto Knife or Fine-Point Sharpie 1 Paring Knife 1 Paintbrush White Paint DIY Pumpkin Centerpiece Directions First, pick a nice round pumpkin. I chose an orange one, but a Cinderella pumpkin in a lovely pastel shade would also look great. Also…

DIY Cat Ears
Does anyone else see cat ears everywhere these days? They are so cute! These diy cat ears were made with a beautiful eyelash lace over a stretchy knit, but you could easily make them with or without the underlayer. They would also look really cute with a different kind of lace underneath so the light could shine through the ears. This is officially my favorite DIY to date! I’d like to make multiple versions – even to leave off the lace and embellish the frame with pearls, rhinestones or flowers for a playful everyday (night) look.
