When it comes to makeup, my daily routine carries over from season to season. Sure, I’ll try a new lipstick and eyeshadow shade each season, but for the most part I like to stick with the least harmful ingredients (paraben-free and sulfate-free) that work with an active lifestyle. Last fall I made a fall capsule wardrobe for the first time, and liked it so much I thought I’d try a makeup capsule collection as well.
It all starts with waterproof eye makeup. Kat Von D’s waterproof liquid eyeliner and Tarte’s waterproof mascara never leave me with raccoon eyes at the end of a hot yoga class. The whole Tarte line is pretty conscientious of its ingredients, so over time other products like amazonian clay foundation, blush, bronzer, and eyeshadow have worked their way into my daily routine. Both my Makeup For Ever concealer and Too Faced eyeshadow primer are waterproof and sulfate-free as well. The Smashbox eyebrow tamer is a convenient two-in-one tool with an awesome self-sharpening crayon on one end and clear gel on the other, which helps minimize the number of items in my makeup bag. Top it all off with the Dior lip tint, a super soft sheer pink with a chameleon-like ability to pair well with everything.
Underneath it all is Josie Maran’s argan oil moisturizer with SPF, and a little Clinique eye cream. These products are both sulfate-free. Although I’ve heard mixed things about the chemicals in Josie Maran’s products, I don’t think this moisturizer includes those harmful chemicals. The daily hair products I use are similarly sulfate-free. Living Proof’s 3-in-1 styling cream makes my hair do whatever I tell it to do with a hairdryer and brush/iron – curly or straight. Top it off with a little of their hair spray and it will stay that way all day!

Are you as picky about what you put on your face as I am? I do my best to use makeup products that are not as bad for my face, but I haven’t done nearly as much research as I wish I would do!
