Happy New Year & New Year Resolutions!

Happy New Year!!! We celebrated with sparklers and long exposure photography. The sparklers were too much fun to stop and head out to a party! That’s ok though, there’s always another party to go to. Don’t chill the good vibes because you’re too busy rushing off to the next thing.

2016 Year in Review

Looking back on 2016, it’s actually been a pretty good year. I became a certified yoga teacher. Not only did I learn how to teach regular yoga, but also how to teach restorative and stand up paddle board yoga. Then I did a yoga mentorship program, which made me more confident in applying the skills learned as a teacher.

For relationship goals, Chris and I moved into an actual house together last January. There’s so much space and time to work on projects (including the house), and we’re still together!

Speaking of projects, in 2016 I started regularly posting on this blog again after becoming more sporadic while I settled in to a new job. The blog is such a great platform to document projects, accomplish creative goals, develop photography skills, and meet really great people.

(Lol, Chris)

2017 New Year Resolutions

What are your thoughts on New Year Resolutions? Some people really don’t like them, because they don’t want to disappoint. At the beginning of each year, I like to set a few intentions. You could even call them “resolutions”. Then I map them out in a planner each month to set them up for success. Since I’m a little flighty, it can be hard for me to remember otherwise. It’s amazing to watch how projects can grow when you give them the attention they need.

I don’t want to spill the beans too much, but some of my bloggy intentions for this year include bringing in more yoga and yoga lifestyle, expanding it with more creative and diy posts, and a little more travel. Keep an eye out!

Accomplishing Goals: Planner Guide

For the past few years I’ve used an Inkwell press planner for this, and I highly recommend it! Last year I used the A5 Quarterly Planners with an A5 canvas cover, to protect the planner paper and stow different colored pens and pencils in. It’s more lightweight to carry the quarterly planner around than the big bound yearly planner, which I used the year prior. If you like a bigger notebook, the bound planner is absolutely heavenly with sturdy monthly tabs and a beautiful heavy cover. Inkwell also makes awesome fitness planners and meal planners, as well as cool graph paper journals that could be used for Bullet Journaling if you’re into that. But Moleskines are the most classic.

Here are a few more cute planners:

I’m a big advocate of daily journaling too, so I’d recommend having one paper space for goal planning/accomplishing and one paper space for daily journaling in whatever way works for you. Maybe that’s 5 minutes of writing in the morning, or even just sketching/doodling while you watch tv.

Anyway, now you have options! Once you choose one, you can just watch your goals fall in place. It’s such a great way to stay motivated. What are your intentions, or “resolutions” this year?

Wishing much love to you in 2017!
