I love a cute boho dress. I love a cute boho dress that I can actually live life in even more. You know what I mean! All dresses are fun. But it’s so important to me to be able to have fun and do the things that I love in clothes that I also love. I don’t want to have to change my lifestyle to live in cute dresses. I’d rather wear cute dresses that fit my lifestyle. Save the structured sheaths for Sunday brunch. Saturday is for something a little more comfortable.
Chris and I had the best Saturday this weekend. We woke up and went to SUP yoga at the lake, then on to the beach to catch some waves. This was our first time doing SUP yoga, and I was surprised by how similar the vinyasa was to regular yoga – you’re just on a board. SUP yoga was a great common ground for Chris and I to meet on, because I’ve done a lot of yoga and he’s spent a lot of time on water boards. My legs were shaking in the beginning, probably because I was scared, but the teacher did a great job at explaining weight distribution in all of the poses. I started feeling much more comfortable pretty quickly, was able to relax and do the poses more efficiently. We pulled off Eagle, crow, headstand, full wheel, three-legged down dog, partner down dog, and a bunch of other things that I didn’t realize I’d be able to find my balance in.
The waves were a little mushy at the beach, but I’m getting much more comfortable standing up on his new longboard. It’s much lighter and a little thinner than his other one. I think the SUP yoga before surfing really helped. It tired out my arms a good amount, but I was so much more aware of my weight and balance on the board. We’re going to SUP yoga again next Saturday, and I think I’m going to do the teacher training in August.
After a day of surfing, a low-maintenance floral bohemian dress as a cover-up is just the ticket for wrapping things up. Surfing can be so exhausting. Your shoulders and arms hurt, you’re exhausted, maybe a little light-headed or dizzy, possibly dehydrated, and utterly blissed. I always bring an extra string bikini for to-and-fro the beach, because they’re so easy to put on when you’re lacking privacy. This bikini is a cute lemon print triangle string suit. I love this floral boho dress because it’s loose enough that I can sit cross-legged in it, and has a tie at the waist for a shift or fit n flair adjustment.
