Long beaded tassel earrings make a statement with a little elegance. These diy beaded tassel earrings feature a rose gold ombre to transition well to spring, and pair with practically any other basic metal. Anything with this many seed beads can be a bit of a time commitment, but it’s worth it when they’re done because they look awesome. Wear them anywhere – a little fringe will do it.
DIY Beaded Tassel Earrings Materials
11/0 Rose Gold Seed Beads
11/0 Silver Seed Beads
11/0 Iridescent Seed Beads
White Waxed Quilting Thread or other strong beading thread
2 Silver Cone Caps
2 Silver Earring Hooks
2 Silver Hoops or Silver Wire
Fabric Glue or Jeweler’s Glue
Scissors

DIY Beaded Tassel Earring Instructions
Cut 28 lengths of waxed quilting thread to 10.5 inches each with sharp scissors. You’ll thread a lot of seed beads through this thread, so make sure the ends are crisp.
Thread one rose gold bead on, and fold the thread in half with the rose gold bead at the bottom. This is your base bead. Continue to thread rose gold seed beads through the doubled-up thread until it measures 1 inch.
Switch to the silver beads, and thread on 1 inch.
Next, thread 1.8 inches of iridescent beads on. This is one full tassel.
Repeat until you have a total of 28 beaded tassels.
Next, you’ll need to fashion a silver loop to tie these tassels to. You can make this from plain silver wire, or something similar that you already have.
Since I had a bunch of these little silver hoops on hand, I kept the eye on one end and wrapped the wire around the widest width of my round nose pliers to make the loop size.
Then I sent the long end of the wire through the eye.
Double knot one tassel on the silver loop you just made. Then apply a light layer of glue to the top of the knot and surgeon’s knot (double wrap the next knot) the thread over it. Do this 14 times total on each silver loop. As you work your way up either side of the loop, make the knots a little looser so the beads have room to settle.
At this stage, it might look super weird and you’ll start having doubts about whether you can pull this off. Keep going 🙂
Once the glue has dried on the thread, trim the excess string off.
Send the long end of the wire through the cone cap, and pull the tassel into place. Wiggle the tassel a little so it fits the cone cap.
Next, use the needle nose pliers to make a little loop in the exposed end of the wire.
This loop will hook onto the earring hook, so make it sturdy by wrapping the excess wire around the loop one or two times before trimming it. Repeat on both tassels.
Attach the earring hooks to the tassels, and that’s it! Brush your shoulders off all day or night in your diy beaded tassel earrings.
