DIY Infinity Knot Bracelet

I like to call this DIY infinity knot bracelet the Angels & Demons Bracelet, because one half of it is cream and beige, and the other half is black and red. Light and dark. Angels and demons. Or, if you’ve been binging on the My Favorite Murder podcast like I have, you could call this bracelet the Sweet Baby Angle and Murderino Bracelet. That’s the right spelling – no Corrections Corner needed right here. If you haven’t binged the podcast yet, now is the perfect time to start while you make your sweet baby angels and demons infinity knot bracelet.

DIY Infinity Knot Bracelet Materials

1 Arms Length of 1mm Black Waxed Cotton Cord
1 Arms Length of 1mm Red Waxed Cotton Cord
1 Arms Length of 1mm Cream Waxed Cotton Cord
1 Arms Length of 1mm Beige Waxed Cotton Cord
2 Ribbon Crimp Clamps
1 Lobster Clasp
2-3 Jump Rings

DIY Infinity Knot Bracelet Instructions

My infinity knot is actually a triple infinity knot – or a double, depending on how you classify an infinity knot. Some people call this knot a sailor’s knot or a nautical knot, and nautical themed rope would look great. I’m going to demo the single infinity knot first.

To make the twisted cord, grasp the ends of two lengths of cotton cord and hold them at arms length. Using your index finger and thumb, roll the two ends. Roll the cords in your right hand clockwise, and the ones in your left hand counter-clockwise. Continue doing this until the cord starts to buckle in the middle. Carefully fold the cord in half. It should twist up on itself. Knot the loose ends. Do this with all 4 cotton cords.

When you’re finished, you should have two cords that look like this.

Now for the infinity knot. Double the beige cord, and loosely cross one end over the other to make a little loop.

Take the dark cord double it up, and place it behind the light loop you just made.

Send the dark cord over the top beige cord, and under the bottom beige cord.

Now we’re going to double back through the loop we made at the beginning. Send the end of the dark cord over the first side of the beige loop, under the dark cord on the bottom, and over the other side of the beige loop.

Carefully tighten the infinity knot. You can leave it a little loose so it lays flat.

I loosened up my knot more, and made a third loop. It’s easy to add more loops, just remember to repeat the over-under pattern symmetrically.

To finish, trim the ends off. Dab jeweler’s glue or clear nail polish on the cord ends, and crimp a ribbon clamp over it. You may want to iron the bracelet a bit so it lays flat.

Add a lobster clasp to one end of the bracelet.

Add one or more jump rings to the other end.

That’s it! You have a beautiful diy infinity knot bracelet for yourself or one of your sweet baby angel friends.

Not feeling up to an infinity knot project? Looking for more ideas? I found these cool infinity knot bracelets around the web. The Isabel Marant ones are so awesome, and so are the Bottega Veneta. It’s so inspiring to see the creativity in the details of designers that have access to more fabrication notions.
