Paleo Cranberry Sauce Recipe

paleo cranberry sauce recipe

Mmmmm… cranberry sauce. Fresh cranberry sauce can be so delicious and good for you. However, many recipes call for an overload of refined sugar to take the tart edge off the natural cranberry flavor. Personally, I don’t mind the tartness much. But you don’t have to load refined sugar into your cranberry sauce to make it sweet. Maple syrup or honey make an easy and healthier substitute for all of that sugar. Local honey can even help with any allergies you may get this time of year. Try this delicious paleo cranberry sauce recipe I made this year. You’ll love it!

Paleo Cranberry Sauce Ingredients

1 1/2 Cups Fresh Cranberries
3/4 Cup Orange Juice
1/2 Cup Maple Syrup
1 Tablespoon Fresh Orange Zest
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg
1/4 Teaspoon Ground All Spice

Paleo Cranberry Sauce Directions

Combine all ingredients in a medium size saucepan. Heat on medium-high for 15 minutes, stirring frequently, until the cranberries pop and the sauce thickens. Serve immediately, or refrigerate for later.

This recipe makes 4-6 servings, but I found I needed to make it twice. It was that good! If you really love cranberry sauce too, you may want to save time and just double the recipe. This sauce makes a great base for other festive recipes, not to mention topping for turkey!
