These are a few more waves from Matagorda surfing in July. We were able to go out on the jetties and the beach! I caught a few really long waves, and of course Chris caught every one that came along. The waves were long and powerful, if choppy from an offshore wind.
When I first went out, it was hard to keep the board straight. The current was coming from so many different directions. You can kind of see it in all of that white water. But once I caught a wave, it was powerful enough that I didn’t have to worry about that anymore. The water is shallow near the break, so then I figured out that it was easier to hop on right in front of the wave and get picked up immediately. That way I didn’t have to try to paddle through the dishwashing machine water.
