Green Juice Recipe for a Healthy Happy Day

I love green juice. It is delicious and gives me energy. Have you ever seen those happy green juice people and wondered what that was about? This green juice recipe is your chance to get in on the action, and it’s very simple to make.

There is, of course, the green juice debate. Is juicing good for you, or are you losing vital fiber and nutrients, by wasting and throwing away the substance of the veggies and fruits that you added into your juice. I’m not a nutritionist, so I’m not really qualified to take a position on either side of this debate. Most people will recommend that you eat foods that make you feel good, and depending on your level of health juicing may or may not be good for you. Would I drink just juice, though? No. Would I want to try to consume all of my veggies and fruits in juice form? No. I also watch out for adding too many sugars to juice, or consuming primarily fruit juice.

On to the good green stuff.

Here’s my favorite green juice recipe! There are so many benefits to this juice recipe. For one thing, there is no way that I would want to consume this many green veggies in one sitting. This may be why the juice makes me feel so good. Have you seen the Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead movie? This is a variation on the green juice he is drinking in this movie. So, if you’ve seen the movie you know the results that this guy experienced.

Make sure to use a real juicer to make this, and not just a blender. I tried it in a blender, and it is totally gross! I use a Breville and it is awesome.

Green Juice Ingredients

1 Bunch of Kale
1 Bunch of Chard
1 Bunch of Spinach
1 Bunch of Parsley
2 Cucumbers
2 Green Apples
6 Celery Stalks
1/2 Lemon
1/2 Lime
1/2 Beet
2 Inch Slice of Ginger
(Serving Size: 2 – 4)

Green Juice Directions

Wash all ingredients. Core the apple and peel the lemons and cucumbers before juicing. This removes the bitter parts of the fruits and veggies that will make the juice taste earthy or bitter. Turn on the Breville, and send the ingredients down the juicer chute one at a time. It helps to stack the veggies in a way that sends the softer leafy ingredients and dense citrus fruits first, interspersed with the easier to juice veggies like celery and cucumber. Once all of the ingredients have been juiced, give it a stir and enjoy! This green juice is best for sharing, so make sure to bring a friend. 🙂
