Friday Finds

This Friday finds my mind wandering. Ever since a frenzy of summer travel and finding myself stuck in Costa Rica after Hurricane Harvey, I’ve had trouble keeping up with my content here! I had so many amazing late summer, travel, and fall articles planned. They are written, just maybe they are not fully edited or are lacking photos or just not quite… perfect. To be honest with you, after that two weeks in Costa Rica, I came home with fresh eyes and started redecorating, refreshing, repainting the whole house and my personal schedule. Lots of new things, less personal time. I started my 300 hour yoga teacher training at Yoga One, and we took a couple of day trips to the beach and hill country. Maybe it’s been a bit too much. I haven’t spent a full day at home in almost a month now. Hence the lack of DIY content and recipes.

So today let’s try something new. Even though time is a bit elusive for graphics and photo editing, there’s so much to be inspired by. Here are a few things itching on my mind this week:

Holiday Essential Oil Recipes

Planning my DoTerra order for November, and can’t wait to fill the house with the holiday. Usually I diffuse a Lavendar + Cedarwood blend in the master bedroom for a relaxing and grounding earthy atmosphere. Some variation of On Guard + Clove + Rosemary + Eucalyptus + Lemongrass + Tea Tree is always in the living room/dining room to keep the air fresh and clean, especially when we have company over. What will the holiday spirit bring?

Meet Me in the Bathroom

A new book about the music and culture of the early aughts. People are already writing memoirs about the music that was cool when I was in college? I feel a wave of nostalgic Spotify playlists coming on…

All Saints Leather Jacket

– Guess what came in the mail from England this week? Looking forward to when the weather is cooler than 95 degrees in Texas.

Memory Wall

I am so intrigued, even though right now all I have the time to listen to/read (Audible books y’all) are yoga books like Light on Pranayama by Iyengar.

Jack Purcell Converse Sneakers

Even though I just bought some light grey Vans. I’m a bit tired of black sneakers, but will never be tired of Converse.

Pro Tip

Sunscreen moisturizer samples are the best for tucking into your purse when you head to a day trip or festival. I always keep one in my makeup bag, and it was a lifesaver last weekend!

Phew. What else is new? I have a busy weekend coming up of yoga teacher training and the surf looks promising Sunday. Also, Chris is playing with Hescher on Saturday! What else? Let me know below.
