Float Fest 2016 Part 2

Day 2 of Float Fest in San Marcos! Chris and I went down pretty early to float the river before the sun climbed to high. But really, the river cools everything off anyway.

Floating was so much fun! It’s been a few years since I floated the river, and never with Chris. Just toss your tube in, hop on and let the water carry you away.

Thank goodness for that air conditioned tent though! We definitely spent some more time in the VIP tent after the river floating, although I would have gone for a float a second time.

I did a lot more people watching today! San Marcos is really close to Austin, so it brought a bit of a crowd from there. Here are a few of my favorite street styles of the day:

On Sunday we caught Rooney and Metric. It had been a while since I had heard Rooney! The project was recently revisited by Robert Schwartzman. He wrote, produced, mixed, and engineered all of the songs on Washed Away, the recently released album. I remembered being a fan of their self titled in 2003, so I was excited to see them. Metric is another gem from my college years – Live It Out was one of my favorites.

We had to leave a little early, so we missed Chromeo – always a good one! Night Drive played too and we bought a cute black tank of theirs from the merch tent. Night Drive practices in Chris’s studio space, so it’s nice to support them!

I feel like I’ve been watching too many scary movies lately. This next one looks like it was straight out of a horror film, but really it was totally unassuming.
