Eight Angle Pose + Fabletics Review

Happy International Yoga Day! Let’s celebrate with one of my favorite yoga poses, Eight Angle Pose, and a Fabletics review. Love and all is coming

Eight Angle Pose Sequence

To move into eight angle pose, begin to warm up with a few cat/cows, flipping your wrists to warm them up too. Warm up your hips with forward folds, chair, and twisted chair. I’d also add in a side crow from that twisted chair. Then runners lunge and twisted lunge on each side, followed by figure four. To warm up the wrists and shoulders, move in downward-facing dog, upward-facing dog, and maybe take some handstand hops if you’re feeling ambitious.

Once you’re warmed up, you should be ready for eight angle pose. Set up for figure four by laying on your back. Sit up straight in a pike. Bend your right leg, and hug your shin by hooking your foot in the crook of your left elbow and your knee in your right elbow. Rock the lower leg back and forth like a baby. Release your leg. Hook your right leg as high over your right shoulder as possible. Plant your hands below your shoulders. Bend your left leg, and hook your left ankle behind your right ankle. Press into your hands to lift your torso off the ground. If you’re stable, slowly bend your elbows and engage your core to lean forward so your torso becomes parallel to the ground, as you straighten your legs to the side. To find your balance here, press through your hands to lift your chest, and squeeze your legs to lift your hips. Release. Repeat on the other side.

Fabletics Yoga Review

This was one of my first times doing yoga in a recent Fabletics delivery, and I’m really pleased with the purchase. If you haven’t heard of Fabletics before, it’s a monthly activewear subscription box. Each month, a package will arrive in your mailbox with a workout outfit that suits your active lifestyle. The concept is great for me, because I have so much going on between work and life that I really have to make the time to shop online, let alone make it into a store. I’ve had several friends subscribe to Fabletics with relative success, so I thought I’d try it out too.

The pants are a perfect crop length, and the daisy print on them is a great modern-minimal organic, painterly take on the nineties daisy classic. Plus, these pants surprisingly pass the bendover test. I was thinking that at the Fabletics value price, they wouldn’t be so high quality. They’re great! Since the pants are so tightly woven, they are a little less stretchy than most of the yoga pants I have, but that doesn’t bother me too much.

The top is so adorable too. It’s made of cotton, so it breathes easily. The wide-cut arms mean that you can pair it with an adorable sports bra to great effect. The strappy racerback-inspired back keeps it from sliding off a shoulder, which is one of my yoga gear pet peeves.

I also realized that I haven’t shared a picture of my cat, Liam, yet! He’s kind of the star of the show around here and he has quite an interesting story. Maybe I’ll share it sometime.
