10 Green Smoothies to Start Your Week

Green smoothies are the best way to start the week of right. A healthy breakfast at the beginning of the day just makes Mondays a little bit better. All you need is a trip to the grocery store and a blender. This is my go-to favorite green smoothie recipe, and it’s great for muscle recovery:

Most Delicious Green Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients: Banana, mango, pineapple, spinach, chard, kale, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, chia seeds (optional).

Instructions: Fill the blender (I use a Nutri-Bullet) with equal parts of the fruits and veggies. Add almond milk up to the baseline of the ingredients, and a tablespoon or two of chia seeds on top. Blend for 30 seconds to 1 minute, and enjoy!

It’s fun to experiment with adding different ingredients to your morning green smoothie. Sometimes I also like to substitute in some peaches or blueberries for one of the fruits, and coconut almond milk can really sweeten things up!

Chia seeds are very high in Omega-3 fatty acids. But if you add chia seeds, you need to drink it quickly, because chia seeds turn a little gooey if they sit. Whey protein powder is another good addition to give you energy at the beginning of the day – it will thicken the texture of the green smoothie. You can also add half or a full tablespoon of matcha green tea powder and skip the coffee. Matcha green tea has the alert benefits of coffee without the jittery side effects.

In case you’re looking for more, here are ten easy, delicious green smoothies to try that I found on Pinterest. Take some time to browse through the sites. They are all filled with even more healthy options.
