My dad is awesome! I love to give him custom Father’s Day gifts that make him feel as awesome as he is. Last year, my sister organized a photo book with my brother and I of all of our favorite memories together with our dad. Custom embroidered ties are also a big hit. One year we made him a custom embroidered Wiley Coyote tie – his favorite cartoon character. My sister made another tie and towel set for him that said “Don’t Panic”, a famous quote from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
Another year I made custom coffee mugs, which were such a great hit. I bought them at Starbucks and drew a “World’s Greatest Dad” scene with a ceramic marker. After everyone signed it, the mug could be baked in the oven. The drawing is a rendition of him fishing for redfish in the Gulf of Mexico on a Mowdy fishing boat. Clearly the World’s Greatest Dad.
Father’s Day Gift Guide
Since I’m really into customized gifts and diy projects, this Father’s Day I wanted to give something a little more unique to the best dad in the world. So for this year’s search for the perfect Father’s Day gift, I turned to Etsy, home of the small business and independent makers. Not only are these gifts have a personal touch, but when you shop on Etsy you’re also love supporting independent crafters. These gifts have a conscience!
My dad loves fishing, so fishing gifts dominate these finds. Each and every one of these items would be the perfect gift for him!
Dad: Man, Myth, Fishing Legend Mug // Wooden Bowtie // Dad Golf Balls // Stamped Bracelet // Fish Tea Towel // Father Daughter Matching Keychain Set // Father’s Day Fishing Kids Keychain // iPhone6 Leather Wallet Case // I’ll Always Be Your Fishing Buddy Keychain Lure
Of course, you could always go for the gold and get him what he really wants. In my dad’s case this is a Leica M6. That’s not quite in my budget this year. For more fun gift ideas, check out this Father’s Day Gift Guide.
Look at the two of us together! He is so fun.
